Mr. McCandless started his career in the
late 1970’s. Since then he has been instrumental in
the shaping of the vision of collaborative computing
and technology assisted human interaction. In addition to
his wide industry experience Bob has founded several companies
including Alphalogix in 1996 to further refine his concepts
of the next generation of enterprise wide communication
tools.
In 1983 at the age of 19 he managed a group
of 30 employees for a Southern California computer software
firm and started developing better business communication
software technologies. Bob joined the innovative executive
team at Knowledge Adventure Software in the early 1990’s
creating the first collaborative on-line interactive environment
for children. Mr. McCandless left the firm and joined Lotus
Development Corporation and returned to the business communication
market. At Lotus he helped bring some of the first enterprise
wide communication, collaboration and knowledge management
tools to market. He was a regular speaker at the Lotus Annual
Worldwide Sales Meeting before leaving IBM.
His ideas are implemented and published
in the industry in variety of ways. Bob is on the Board
of Advisors for e-Pro Magazine from Penton Media, is a valued
contributor to industry publications and is a regular speaker
at Colleges, Universities and Industry events. Bob’s
empowering ways to share information, ideas and data help
drive him to create software technology that allows its
enterprise customers to leverage the power of effective
corporate communication and collaboration.
